Join the KSAR Team
Individuals can join Kimberley Search & Rescue at any time.
You must be at least 16 years of age.
How to Join KSAR:
- Fill out the application form and send it in or bring
to a practice.
- Attend a practice to meet the group and see how you like it.
- It is a big committment to join KSAR. The 2nd and 4th Tuesday
nights of each month are practice nights year round with a
minimum 75% attendance for Member in Good Standing Status.
- The 1st and 3rd Tuesday nights are for KSAR Specialty Team
practices such as Rope Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue and Winter
Rescue. These practices are open to all members.
- New members must become certified in Ground Search &
Rescue. This course is taught locally through our group.
New members are encouraged to join between courses.
- Once certified in Ground Search & Rescue members in good
standing are able to take advanced provincially certified
courses in Rope Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue, Winter and Avalanche
Rescue, Tracking, Mountain Rescue and more. These courses are
free for members in good standing.
- KSAR is 100% volunteer
- KSAR is lots of fun with a great team!
- KSAR members partake in many fundraising and public education
events to increase our profile and sustainability.
