KSAR Funding
The funding that makes Kimberley Search and Rescue possible, comes from
a variety of sources.
- The Provincial Government
- the province pays KSAR for equipment used on searches on a per call basis
- they provide members a meal allowance while on searches
- they provide members with workers compensation while on searches
- they also provide KSAR Society with liability insurance
- The City of Kimberley
- the City of Kimberley provides KSAR garage space at city hall
- they provide fuel for KSAR vehicles
- they provided an annual grant which is essential to KSAR's operations
- The Regional District of East Kootenay provides grant money
- KSAR provides hosting at the Kimberley Riverside Campground during July Fest
- Mostly, our funding comes from donations and targeted grants
Our Latest Fundraising Program
The Husky Community Rebate Program is a great way for KSAR to raise funds.
Here's how it works:
Husky supports KSAR by rebating 2% of all purchases (excluding lottery tickets and tobacco
products) made by people who swipe the KSAR Rebate Members Card, at Husky or Mohawk stations.
By buying gas, coffee or even fruit and veggies, you can support KSAR. The two Huskys in
Kimberley each have a KSAR rebate card, just ask them to swipe it when you make a purchase.
